Before devoting himself to solo playing, Louis Kievman enjoyed a prominent position in chamber music with the outstanding Musical Art and Stuyvesant String Quartets. With them he concertized extensively and recorded many major works for both Victor and Columbia Records. As Solo Violist he was heard in a number of important movies and appeared as soloist with major symphonies and in recital throughout America. He was also a member of the original NBC Symphony under Arturo Toscanini.
He was much in demand as a lecturer and clinician, and taught master classes in London, Salzburg, Vienna, Switzerland and the International Lionel Tertris Competition and Workshop at the Isle of Mann, to name just a few.
